There are few areas of industry as fast-moving as the Communications sector.

Certainly, there are few as competitive. In this climate, HF Comms has grown and developed almost as quickly as the sector itself. And we recognise that simply to be abreast of technologies is no longer good enough.

The history of our Comms Services

Since our inception in 1996 we have grown to a team of well over 100 highly-skilled engineers, working on ground-breaking communications contracts throughout the world. Clients who contract us benefit from working with a company which prides itself in keeping all of the necessary skills in-house, thus eliminating the lack of control and risks of sub-contracting.

Greg Madine, Managing Director of HF Comms, explains:

“We have the technology and skills sets from within our group and the drive to deliver. For any problem there is always a solution. We don’t like failure. There has to be a way.”

And it’s on contracts such as a recent commission for Arqiva where our wide range of in-house skills and expertise really came into its own. Consolidating the services of EE (Formerly T-Mobile) and 3 (MBNL), our work commenced with two-man climbing surveys of 1,300 sites, which was completed within five months. This was followed by completion of the construction and planning drawings for the sites, including the design of problem sites. Our work comprised programming the sites in, arranging access and outages, managing the logistics from two large warehouses and completing the works on a variety of sites including greenfield, brownfield, rooftop and pylons. After a full testing, commissioning and auditing programme we completed a comprehensive handover of the sites back to Arqiva.

From start to finish, working with HF provided Arqiva with a professional approach and an unsurpassed level of control throughout.

John Balmer, Operations Director of HF Comms, adds:

“In telecoms, we meet new challenges every day. But HF has a reputation within our industry for flexibility and a ‘can do’ attitude. As a quality assured company we have the processes to meet any customer demand.”
