The difference in commercial plumbing and domestic plumbing can best be looked at in both scale and usage.
Commercial plumbing deals in the water supply and drainage systems for businesses, public spaces, leisure centres, industrial and manufacturing facilities etc that have extensive plumbing systems that are more demanding by nature that residential and domestic plumbing. The scale to which commercial plumbing has to operate in is almost unlimited; covering everything from public bathrooms to water heating systems for swimming pools and water systems for manufacturing facilities. Bigger buildings, bigger equipment and of course, bigger plumbing problems when they do arise.
Maintaining, repairing and installing larger and more complex plumbing systems for clients, operating to set design blueprints that often require customised fitting requirements.
Residential plumbers will normally operate in buildings that cover two to three floors where gravity plays a major part in the smooth running of water pipes and the pressure required to deliver water to the various supply points in a building. Commercial plumbers such as ourselves have the skills and experience to design, install and maintain the plumbing and pipework systems of complex building structures that run over multiple levels. We work with plumbing systems including industrial grade heating systems, piping and water supply needs.
While the requirements for residential and domestic plumbing are themselves complex, there is less demand on the plumbing system of a family home that covers two floors and two bathrooms compared to a multi story hotel that covers (for example) 10 floors, with one hundred rooms, each with a bath, sink and toilet to operate reliably every hour of every day of the year.
At HF Group, our Mechanical Commercial Plumbing and Heating Division is responsible for installing and maintaining piping and drainage systems, fire sprinkler systems, heating systems, ventilation systems, water drinking services, bathrooms, kitchens and so much more.
And because of the nature of commercial plumbing, we can operate outside of the traditional 9-5 operating hours to ensure that your businesses daily operations are not disturbed.
